Digonocryptus teleborus Aguiar et Ramos , sp. nov.

Figs 53, 54, 125, 210, 250

Description. Holotype FEMALE. Fore wing 13.3 mm.

Head. Ventral tooth of mandible slightly but distinctly longer than dorsal tooth. Clypeus apical area delimited by smooth, weak border; clypeal margin medially raised but not strengthened into tooth. Clypeal sulcus continued dorsally towards torulus, but curved to eye margin, delimiting semicircular area on each side of supraclypeal area ( Fig. 125). Antenna with 22 flagellomeres; white band starting at flagellomere III; 6 flagellomeres at least 50% white.

Mesosoma . Pronotum latero-dorsally densely punctulate, otherwise mostly strongly striate-rugose; epomia long and stout; dorsally with sharp narrow transverse channel between collar and posterior wall. Mesonotum densely punctulate. Sulcus between mesonotum and scutellum deep and strongly crenulate. Scutellum with small punctures separated by about one diameter. Mesopleuron pilose, 95% of cuticular surface visible; from dorsally conspicuously alutaceous to ventrally carinate-striate. Subalar prominence narrow and elongate, not keeled. Speculum swollen. Sulcus between sternaulus and scrobe distinct. Sternaulus crenulate, posteriorly more irregularly. Posterior transverse carina of mesosternum absent. Lower metapleuron striate-rugulose. Propodeum: area in front of anterior transverse carina densely punctuate, matt, medially with two ridges extending from carina to anterior margin, forming approximately a “V”; area within V-shaped carinae moderately sunk, deepened, not punctuate; small tooth or acuminate border on each end of “V”. Propodeal apophyses present as large, conspicuous, triangular scalelike structures. Posterior transverse carina represented by medial transverse strong rugosity. Propodeum behind anterior transverse carina strongly oblique to transverse striate-rugose; rugosities reaching pleural carina perpendicularly, giving crenulate appearance along line of fusion between propodeum and metapleuron. Fore wing in Fig. 210; vein 3-Cu 1.55 length of 4-Cu. Hind wing in Fig. 250.

Metasoma. Postpetiole dorso-anteriorly weakly convex; dorsolateral carina distinct, stronger from spiracle to apex; median dorsal carina strong, somewhat concave in between; petiolar spiracles in dorsal view prominent, protruding from T1. Ovipositor 1.41 length of hind tibia. Apex of lower valve with 15 teeth.

Color. Dark reddish brown (131,051,051). Lateral pattern as in Fig. 53. Head more lightly colored than body, scape brown, flagellomeres black, except white band. Labrum pale yellow. Orbital band at 7–9 h, narrow, pale yellowish. Gena at eye margin with diffuse yellowish area. Collar of pronotum with yellowish tint. Subalar prominence yellowish brown. Scutellum apex black, otherwise yellowish brown, laterally lighter, centrally darker. Hind margin of meso- and metanotum and postscutellum black. Propodeum as in Figs 53–54, pale yellowish at base of scale-shaped apophyses. Fore and mid femora approximately dorsally and ventrally dark brown, laterally and mesally light brown. Hind femur dorsally and ventrally dark brown, laterally and mesally dark reddish brown. Fore and mid tibiae dark beige (199,167,133), covered with very fine and dense golden pilosity. Hind tibia basal 0.2 yellowish brown, otherwise dark brown. Fore tarsus color similar but slightly darker than on respective tibia. Mid t1 colored as respective tibia, except apically dark brown; t2–3 pale yellow with apex dark brown; t4–5 dark brown. Hind t1–4 white, except t1 basal end brown; t5 basal 0.4 yellowish, apical 0.6 dark brown. Metasoma dorsally with about half its area dark orange (204,082,000), other half dark brown along apical 0.3 and broadly mediolongitudinally, narrowing toward basal margin ( Fig. 53). T8 dorsally lighter, and without dark brown area.

Morphological variation. Fore wing 7.7–16.4 mm. Ovipositor 1.41–1.58 length of hind tibia. Antenna sometimes with 21 flagellomeres, white band starting at flagellomere IV, with 3–5 articles. Clypeal margin sometimes without any modification, rarely medially with a tooth almost completely differentiated. On largest specimens, propodeum sculpturing very strong and sharp, almost carinate. Apex of lower valve of ovipositor with 13–15 teeth. Eye margin sometimes with yellow line at 7–11 h. Shape and area covered by dark patterns on tergites highly variable. Specimens from Nova Teutonia (southern Brazil) have head and mesosoma almost entirely orange (255,120,037), fore and mid legs with yellowish instead of beige, mid and hind legs with orange instead of brown. Smallest specimen with delicate sculpturing, sulcus between mesonotum and scutellum not crenulate, body mostly light orange, T2–5 with thin yellow line along apical margin.

MALE. Unknown.

Comments. Similar to D. caraguatensis from which it can be distinguished by having postpetiole apical margin with no traces of yellow (vs. with two yellow spots, on each side); propodeal apophyses present as large, triangular scale-like structures (vs. absent, or not developed); dorsolateral and median dorsal carina distinct and stout (vs. absent); petiolar spiracles in dorsal view prominent (vs. not prominent); clypeal margin medially not strengthened into a tooth (vs. with two small teeth).
