Digonocryptus boraeus Aguiar et Ramos , sp. nov.

Figs 43, 44

Description. Holotype FEMALE. Fore wing 11.0 mm.

Head. Ventral tooth of mandible approximately as long as dorsal tooth. Clypeus apical area delimited by smooth border; clypeal margin with two teeth. Antenna beyond flagellomere X missing; white band starting at flagellomere V.

Mesosoma . Mesopleuron glabrous, weakly striate. Subalar prominence narrow and elongate, not keeled. Sulcus between sternaulus and scrobe distinct. Posterior transverse carina of mesosternum absent. Lower metapleuron distinctly striate. Propodeum: area in front of anterior transverse carina alutaceous. Propodeal apophyses present as distinct scale-shaped structures, continuous with complete posterior transverse carina. Area between transverse carinae obliquely striate; area behind posterior carina from longitudinally striate at petiolar foramen to otherwise mostly transversely striate. Fore wing vein 3-Cu 1.65 length of 4-Cu.

Metasoma. Postpetiole dorsally, at level of spiracle, very weakly concave; dorsolateral carinae distinct from spiracle to apex of tergite; median dorsal carinae absent; petiolar spiracles in dorsal view not prominent. Ovipositor 1.48 length of hind tibia. Apex of lower valve with 13 teeth.

Color. Beige with orange tint (205,160,000) with pale yellow (255,255,165) and black marks. Lateral pattern as in Fig. 43. Orbital band interrupted only between 12–2 h, but very narrow at malar space and between 2–3 h, and very narrow at level of torulus, from where it gains width toward temple up to 0.2 width of interocular distance; gena almost entirely yellow, except narrowly black along occipital carina. Labrum and clypeus yellow, except brown at clypeal sulcus laterally and along line of delimitation of apical area, which is medially black. Supraantennal area along yellow stripe narrowly black, centrally reddish brown (255,120,000). Temple black. Occiput ventrally black, dorsally reddish brown, with medio-longitudinal black stripe. Meso and metasoma light orange, except as follows. Pronotum dorsally along anterior margin with wide yellow stripe from side to side, not medially interrupted; latero-dorsal margin with long yellow mark, continued anteriorly with black medio-dorsal margin. Propleuron yellow. Mesoscutum from center to posterior margin, between notaulus only, black; centrally, at level of tegula, with distinct yellow spot over black area. Axillar carina yellow. Scutellum yellow, except narrowly black on margins, encircling completely yellow area. Propodeum as in Figs 43–44, with faint yellow stripe medio-longitudinally. Fore and mid femora brown. Hind femur reddish brown. All tibia yellow with slight orange tint (255,234,075). Mid from basally brown to apically dark brown; t2–5 black. Fore and hind tarsi missing. Metasoma entirely light orange, slightly darker than on mesosoma.

Morphological variation. Fore wing 8.5–11.0 mm. Ovipositor 1.28–1.48 length of hind tibia. Paratype with white band starting at flagellomere V, with 6 articles. Yellow on head, mesosoma and fore tibia much lighter (255,255,203) than observed on holotype. Head entirely black between yellow marks, including occiput entirely black; orbital band broadly interrupted at malar space and between 12–3 h. Fore and mid t1–2 from basally brown to apically dark brown; t3–4 dark brown. Hind t1 from basally light brown to centrally and apically yellowish; t2– 4 pale yellow, t5 brown.

MALE. Unknown.

Comments. Similar to D. caceres , from which it can be distinguished by having the sternaulus weak, but reaching posterior margin of mesopleuron (vs. deep and well defined but ending half way); posterior transverse carina complete, distinct in its entire length (vs. medially inconspicuous or absent); black on mesosoma restricted to dorso-medial part of pronotum, behind yellow stripe, and to posterior half of mesoscutum (vs. mostly or entirely black in these parts); and orbital band widely interrupted dorso-posteriorly, approximately between 1–3 h.

Material examined. 2 females. HOLOTYPE ♀ “ Estação Biológica Boraceia , Salesópolis, SP, Brasil, 17 May 1962, E. Rabello leg.” ( MZUP). Antenna apex, many leg parts, and left fore wing missing; several leg parts glued on a card, pinned with specimen; scutellum and region between met thorax and propodeum widely broken . Paratype ♀ “ Guaratuba , PR, Brasil, 31 October to 06 November 1976, B. Oliveira leg.” ( DZUP). Complete, in good shape .

Distribution. Brazil (Atlantic Forest of SP, PR).
