Basionym: Graphis xanthospora Müller Arg., Bull. Herb. Boissier View in CoL 3 (7): 320 (1895).

Type:— AUSTRALIA. Queensland: Trinity Bay, Sayer s.n. (G!) .

Thallus corticolous, off-white to bluish gray, continuous, smooth or minutely roughened, corticate, glossy. Lirellae immersed, with lateral thalline margin, elongate, up to 3 mm long, irregularly branched, labia convergent, entire or very rarely striate, black, mostly distinctly whitish pruinose, disc concealed ( caesiella -morph). Exciple apically carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 6–8/ascus, hyaline, not halonate, transversely 7–9-septate, 30–35 × 7–8 μm.

Chemistry: no lichen substances by TLC (anal. K. Kalb).

Distribution and habitat:—Pantropical ( Lücking et al. 2009), reported from U.S.A., Florida ( Lücking et al. 2011) , Cuba (as G. bayatensis Vain. ), the Philippines (as G. mindanaoensis Vain. ), (all synonyms from Lücking et al. (2009), Indonesia ( Aptroot & Sparrius 2008 –present), Australia (type locality) and here for the first time from Thailand where it was growing in a tropical rainforest near a waterfall.

Remarks:—This species is very similar to G. glaucescens (see above), but it differs in having a corticate and glossy thallus.

Material from Thailand examined:— Songkhla province: Rattaphum district, tambon Tha Chamuang, at Tone- Plew Waterfall in a tropical rainforest, on bark of an unidentified tree, 100 m, 07°00’03’’N. 100°14’07’’ E, 18 December 2016, J. & K. Kalb s.n. (hb. K. & J. Kalb 42060) GoogleMaps .
