Description. PE 2.1–2.5 mm; total 3.6–3.8 mm. Elytral width: 2.3–2.5 mm. Body ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 a) oval, moderately convex, black and shiny.

Head finely punctulate, the frons and epistoma concave. Frontal stria incised, straight at middle. Labrum transverse, emarginate anteriorly. Mandibles convex, finely punctulate, with one denticle at inner margin. Antennae pitch-brown. Pronotum rounded laterally. Marginal pronotal stria present at sides only, the lateral pronotal stria complete, incised. Pronotal sides moderately densely covered with elongate punctures (1–4). Pronotal base with irregular rows of round punctures, interrupted medially.

Elytra with few punctures at apex, sparsely distributed (2–4). Dorsal striae incised, slightly crenulate, 1–4 complete, the fifth one abbreviated at basal fifth. Humeral elytral stria fine. Elytral epipleura flat, both marginal striae present, carinate. A row of punctures between the epipleural and marginal elytral stria present.

Propygidium transverse, irregularly covered with coarse and round punctures (0.2–2.0). Pygidium convex, more finely punctured at base, the punctures irregularly distributed (1–5), the pygidial apex very finely and sparsely punctulate.

Mesoventrite ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b) shallowly emarginate, its antero-lateral angles with two hamate striae. Marginal mesoventral stria semicircular. Postmesocoxal stria gradually divergent from lateral metaventral stria, curved apical, attaining the metacoxa. Both lateral striae of the first abdominal ventrite present, the outer one shortened basally not united with the inner one.

Legs paler than body, pitch-brown. Protibiae with 3(+1) teeth along outer margin. Mesotibia with 3 spinules, the apical one bifid. Metatibia with one bifid spinule at apex.

Male genitalia: aedeagus ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 c–e). Ratio in length of parameres to basal piece about 1.48; basal piece rather short. Lateral sides of parameres paralleled, convergent at apical fourth. Parameres fused on dorsal surface. Median lobe simple.

Etymology. The name of this species refers to its completely black pygidial segments. Distribution. Known only from N Sulawesi, Indonesia.
