TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., Nebraska, Washington Co., near Blair (formerly Engineer Cantonment), W. bank of Missouri River .
DISTRIBUTION: S. Canada west to C. Saskatchewan and east to S.E. Canada, south to S. Nebraska and N. Virginia ( U.S.A.).
COMMENT: McGaugh and Genoways, 1976, Museology, 2:81; and Handley, 1979, in Kirk, The Great Dismal Swamp, Univ. Press, 311 pp. included telmalestes in this species; but also see Gureev, 1979:425, Tate et al., 1980, Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash., 93:50-60, and Hall, 1981:57, who listed telmalestes as a distinct species.
