TYPE LOCALITY: Japan, Kyushu, Nagasaki .

DISTRIBUTION: Japan (Honshu, Kyushu, Tane, Amakusa, Tsushima and other isis.); Taiwan.

COMMENT: Includes insularis; but see Corbet, 1978:35. Formerly included in Talpa ; see Imaizumi, 1970, The Handbook of Japanese Land Mammals, Vol. 1; Gureev, 1979; Gromov and Baranova, 1981:15. According to SW, coreana is a subspecies of wogura .
