TYPE LOCALITY: U.S. S. R., River Davan-su, N.W. Russian Pamir Mtns., Peter the Great Ridge .

DISTRIBUTION: Pamir Mts.; Tadzhikistan. Probably N. Afghanistan and N. Pakistan (OLR).

COMMENT: Considered a subspecies of thibetanus by Dolgov and Hoffmann, 1977, Zool. Zh., 56: 1687-1692. Retained by Hutterer, 1979, Z. Saugetierk., 44: 65-80, who considered thibetanus a nomen dubium.
