Type species: Myrmarachne melanocephala MacLeay, 1839 (S Asia)

The ant-mimicking genus Myrmarachne , which contains over 200 nominal species, is one of the largest genera of jumping spiders. It is widely distributed in the world (including numerous islands – Prószyński 2014, World Spider Catalog 2015). In the continental part of the Afrotropical Region Myrmarachne is represented by almost 50 species. A considerable number of them are difficult to identify, which applies especially to females.

Hitherto 12 species of Myrmarachne have been noted from Kenya: M. giltayi Roewer , M. ichneumon (Simon) , M. kiboschensis Lessert , M. kilifi Wanless , M. kitale Wanless , M. lawrencei Roewer , M. lulengana Roewer , M. marshalli Peckham & Peckham , M. melanotarsa Wesołowska & Salm , M. militaris Szombathy , M. naro Wanless , and M. uvira Wanless. We add M. dundoensis Wanless to this list.
