Remarks. Anacroneuria itatiaiensis and A. fuscicosta (Enderlein 1909) are similar in color and wing length, but are distinguished by the differences in details of the penial armature and in size of hammer (shorter in A. itatiaiensis ). In dorsal view, the apex of penial armature is pointed in A. itatiaiensis and rounded in A. fuscicosta . In lateral view, the penial armature of A. itatiaiensis has a strong subapical constriction, which is less pronounced in A. fuscicosta .
Etymology. The specific epithet is formed from Itatiaia, name of the Park where the specimen was collected.
