Type-species— Leptostylus palmeri LeConte, 1873 View in CoL (monotypy).
Diagnosis. Antennae as long as body in female, a little longer in male; antennomere VI with apical projection in male; pronotum irregular but not tuberculate; sides angulate at middle; elytra without centrobasal crest or carinae, apex obtusely rounded; femora strongly clavate, pedunculate at base; basal metatarsomere shorter than the next two together. Number of species currently included: 2 ( Mexico).
Remarks. The proportionally short scape and tarsal claws not distinctly divaricate makes questionable the allocation of this genus in Acanthocinini .
