Type: — CROATIA. Central Dalmatia: Zaglavice, presso Sevid, Dalmazia centrale, litorale roccioso, 7 November 2006, Brullo, Bogdanović & Giusso s.n. (holotype CAT!; isotypes CAT!, ZAGR!) ( Figs. 16 View FIGURE 16 , 45 View FIGURE 45 ) .

Diagnosis: — Planta dense pubescens , dense foliosa secus partem superiorem caudicularum, foliis rugosis, spathulatis ad lineari-spathulatis, retusis, revolutis margine, 1-nervis, scapis numerosis, erectis, rugosis, ramis sterilibus numerosis, inflorescentia laxa pyramidata, ramosa, spicis rectis ad curvatis, bractea inferiore ovata, obtusa, bractea superiore oblonga, acuta, calice tubo piloso, lobis ovato-triangularibus, acuminatis.

Description: —Plant perennial, 13–25(–35) cm tall, densely pubescent (hairs up to 0.05–0.1 mm long), with robust tap-root. Caudices 1–4 cm long, with contract branched, and densely covered by leaves in the upper part. Leaves rigid, rugose, pubescent, green, 12–35 mm long, 3–6 mm wide, spathulate to linear-spathulate, revolute at the margin, 1-nerved, gradually tapering into a long petiole, retuse at the apex. Stems numerous, erect, rugose, with numerous sterile branches, flexuous, fragile at nodes, very branched, diverging at the angle of 40–70(–110)°, internodes 5–15 mm long, right to curved. Inflorescence lax, pyramidate, branched; spikes 5–30 mm long, straight to curved. Spikelets 5–6 mm long, 1–4-flowered, 3–7 per cm; outer bract 1.3–1.8 mm long, 1.3–1.7 mm wide, ovate, obtuse, with margin narrowly membranous, glabrous, and central part fleshy, acuminate, hairy; middle bract 1.7–2.1 mm long, 1–1.3 mm wide, oblong, shortly bifid at the apex, membranous, densely hairy on the veins; inner bract 3–3.9 mm long, 2–2.3 mm wide, oblong, acute, with margin membranous, glabrous, 0.2–0.3 mm wide, and central part fleshy, densely hairy, 1.4–1.6 mm wide, acuminate, forming a triangular tip, 0.6–0.8 mm long, almost reaching the upper margin. Calyx 3.8–4.6 mm long, exserted 1.5–2 mm from the inner bract, tube hairy, with ribs densely hairy, reaching the basal part of the lobes; calyx lobes, ovate-triangular, glabrous, 0.6–0.7 × 0.8–0.9 mm, acuminate. Corolla lilac. Chromosome number 2n=18.

Etymology: —This species is dedicated to M. Milović, Croatian botanist from Šibenik, who collected some specimens of this plant.

Distribution and ecology: —This species occurs in Central Dalmatia, along the costal belt between Šibenik and Split ( Fig. 29A View FIGURE 29 ). It is localized in the calcareous rocky places near the sea, where it is a member of halophilous vegetation.
