Niponius osorioceps: Okeanskaia View in CoL near Vladivostok (Kryzhanovskij & Reichardt, 1976: 78); Lazovski Nature Reserve, Cordon Proselochnaya (43°00’805"N 134°06’424"E) (Zaitsev & Zaitsev, 2019: 149).

MATERIAL EXAMINED. Russia: Primorsky Krai: Ussuri Dist., near Kamenushka, 4.VIII 1979, 1 ex., leg. A. V . Mikheechev & N.B. Nikitsky ( CSCA); same locality, 13. VI 1990, Tilia sp. stump, 1 ex., leg. S.A. Kurbatov ( CSCA); same locality, 18.VII 1991, 1 ex. , leg. S.A. Kurbatov ( CSCA); Lazovski Nature Reserve , Cordon Zviozdochka, 10 km to NE from Kievka, 14–21. V 2009, 3 ex. , leg. S.A. Kurbatov; Vladivistok , Botanic Garden, flight intercept trap, 11. V 2022, 1 ex. ; same locality, 22. V 2022, 1 ex. ; same locality, 17. VI 2022, 1 ex., leg. M.E. Sergeev ( FSCV).

DISTRIBUTION. Russia: Primorsky Krai (Kryzhanovskij & Reichardt, 1976; Ôhara, 1999; Sokolov, 2009; Lee et al., 2012). Japan: Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu, Shikoku; Korea.

NOTES. A rare, dendrophilous species associated with the galleries of Hylesinus tristis Blandford, 1894 ( Coleoptera : Curculionidae : Scolytinae ), where it preys on their larvae and pupae (Zaitsev & Zaitsev, 2019).
