Diagnosis. The forewing length is 18–18.5 mm in males and 21–22 mm in females. The detailed comparison with the externally similar B. witti sp. n. is provided above in the diagnosis of the latter species.

Distribution. Endemic to Taiwan Island. Known from Nantou, Taitung, Pingtung, Ilan and Hualien Counties.

Remark. The male genitalia of B. callorufa illustrated by Wu et al. (2013) and subsequently by Volynkin & Černý (2017: fig. 21) belong to the paratype (slide No. TFRI146149) and not the holotype as they were erroneously marked by Volynkin & Černý (2017).
