DISTRIBUTION, HABITAT AND PHENOLOGY. — Central and northeast parts of Grande Terre; over micaschistes and gneiss, 250 m.
REMARKS
A reliable diagnostic character is the corky swellings surrounding the base of the petioles ( Fig. 4D-E, G View FIG ). The hypanthium of some (e.g., MacKee 28444) can be prominently sericeous; the leaf blades of some appear to be only thinly coriaceous (e.g., Munzinger 3084).
