Exalphus hefferni Audureau (2017): 2 View in CoL , fig. 4. Plistonax hefferni Silva Júnior et al. (2019): 395 View in CoL (comb. nov.); Monné (2021) (cat).
Type locality: holotype (male) – Colombia, Muzo region ( AACP, destined to MNHN) .
Diagnosis. Median-basal crest on elytron straight ( Fig. 1e View Fig ), formed by prominent tubercles, separated from each other.
Distribution. Colombia [Boyacá] (Fig. S4b).
Remarks. This species has been recently transferred to Plistonax by Silva Júnior et al. (2019), which also corrected the sex of the holotype (assinaled as female in the original description). P. hefferni can be distinguished by median-basal crest discontinued, formed by flattened and prominent tubercles, a unique feature in the genus. The central white stain on the elytra is similar to P. albituberculatus . Species known only by the type specimen from Colombia.
