Nomenclatural notes: —When publishing the name C. aristata, Planchon (1848) cited the sample J.F. Drège s.n., but did not mention the herbarium of deposit. In reviewing this name Polhill (1964) reported that the material was deposited in BM and K. Despite this contribution, Polhill’s citation is not a valid lectotypification, as two specimens in different collections are cited. In the late 20th century, Wilmot-Dear (1999) erroneously considered the K specimen to be an isolectotype. Despite this error, Wilmot-Dear’s (1999) designation should be considered effective. After analyzing K’s specimen, we found that 3 specimens were stitched together on the same sheet. Considering that Wilmot-Dear (1999) did not specify the lectotype, we propose a second lectotypification step (ICN Art. 9.17) and choose the specimen in Herb. K with barcode 000243081 as lectotype, as the other two branches refer to C. appendiculata (K barcode 000243082) and C. subdentata (K barcode 000243083).
Taxonomic notes: —Synonym of Chaetachme aristata ( Sattarian et al. 2006) .
