Description
Female (n=5)
Length of idiosoma 350–400, width 310–340. Shape circular, posterior margin rounded, colour yellowish brown.
Dorsal idiosoma ( Figure 1 View FIGURES 1–2 ). Marginal and dorsal shields fused. All dorsal setae smooth, slightly curved and ca 21–23 long. Surface of dorsal idiosoma without sculptural process, only some muscle scars situated on central area of caudal part of dorsal shield. Two pairs of lyriform fissures and on pair of pore visible close to this area.
Ventral idiosoma ( Figure 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ). Surface of sternal shield smooth. All sternal setae smooth and ca 7–9 long. Setae st1 situated close to anterior margin of sternal shield, st2 at level of posterior margin of coxae II, st3 at level of central area of coxae III, st4 at level of anterior margin of coxae IV. All ventral setae smooth. Setae v2 situated close to edge of genital shield and ca 12–14 long. Setae v6 placed close to v7 and ca 22–24 long. Setae v7 (ca 35–37) and v8 (ca 15–16) situated close to posterior end of pedofossae IV. A long incision of caudal margin of ventral shield situated close to v7 and v8. Ventral shield without sculptural pattern. Setae ad similar in shape and length to setae v7, and situated lateral to anal opening. Anal plate oval, ca 12–13 long and ca 10–11 wide. One pair of lyriform fissures and one pair of pores situated close to posterior edge of genital shield, one pair of lyriform fissure close to setae v7, one pair of lyriform fissures and one pair of pores between setae ad and anal opening and two pairs of pores between setae ad and v7. Poststigmatid part of peritreme short and straight, prestigmatid R-shaped. Stigmata situated between coxae II and III. Genital shield linguliform (ca 121–125 long and ca 54–57 wide at level of st3 and ca 29–32 wide at basal line) with rounded anterior margin. Surface of genital shield smooth, only one pair pores situated close to posterior margin. Pedofossae deep, their surface smooth, separate furrows for tarsi IV present. Base of tritosternum narrow, vase-like, tritosternal laciniae smooth, subdivided into three smooth branches in its distal half.
Gnathosoma ( Figure 10 View FIGURES 10–15 ). Corniculi horn-like, internal malae smooth and longer than corniculi. Hypostomal setae h1–h3 smooth and needle-like, h4 marginally serrate. Setae h1 long (ca 22–24), h2, h3 and h4 shorter (ca 11–12). Epistome apically serrate. Palp with smooth and needle-like setae. Fixed digit of chelicerae longer than movable digit.
Legs ( Figures 3–6 View FIGURES 3–7 ). All legs with smooth and needle-like setae, the claws on first leg present, but smaller than others. All femora bearing flap-like ventral processes. Leg I 186–195, leg II 187–192, leg III 203–206, leg IV 208–210.
Male (n=8)
Length of idiosoma 350–400, width 310–340. Body form and colour as in females.
Dorsal idiosoma. As in female.
Ventral idiosoma ( Figure 7 View FIGURES 3–7 ). All sternal setae smooth and long (ca 15–19). Setae st1–st4 situated anterior to genital shield, st5 situated at level of central area of genital shield. One pair of lyriform fissures situated close to st1, one pair of pores between st2 and st3 and between st4 and genital opening, and one pair of lyriform fissure and one pair of pores situated close to setae s t5. Genital shield egg-shaped (ca 55–59 long and ca 50–52 wide at level of st5). Surface without sculptural pattern and situated between coxae IV.
Nymphs and larva unknown.
Etymology. The name of the new species is given in honour of Maria and Hans-Wilhelm Koepcke, who founded the biological research station Panguana in the year 1968.
