ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 218.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus Agri Parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype (abdomen partially eaten by dermestids) ( MZUF: Box 15): Masicera Macq. / infantilis Rnd. / 759.

CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Meigenia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 147).

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 218) described Masicera infantilis without specifying either the exact number or the sex of the specimens and not giving a range of lengths. We found one syntype in this study.
