ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861b: 211 (key), 215 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Germania [ Germany]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype ( MZUF: Box 17): Hyalomyia [sic!] Desv. / fuligipennis Rnd. / Alophora uibripennis Mgn. / 915.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Phasia obesa (Fabricius, 1798) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 411) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1861b: 215) described Hyalomya fuligipennis from a single male: “ Maris … Exemplar speciei a me observatum [Male … A specimen of this species observed by me]”.
