ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868a: 43.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro Panormitano [ Palermo’s territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing left mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 16): Psalida Rndn. / meridiana Rndn. / 827; 1 ♂, syntype (missing right mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 16): Psalida Rndn. / meridiana Rndn. / Sicil. [= Sicily] / 827.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Leucostoma meridianum ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 420, Pape et al., 1995: 31, Cerretti 2010: 526, O’Hara et al. 2020: 594).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 43) described Psalida meridiana from two males: “ mares duos misit D. Mina [sic!] - Palumbo [Mr. Minà-Palumbo sent two males]” .
