ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861e: 160 (key), 161 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (not a female as given in the original description) (wings broken, missing right mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 12): Phorocera Mgn / parvula Rnd. / 590.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Synactia parvula ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 308, Pape et al. 1995: 26, Cerretti 2010: 343, O’Hara et al. 2020: 656).

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 161) described Phorocera parvula from a single female: “ Faeminam unicam legi [I collected a single female]”, apparently mis-sexing it. Herting (1969: 198) stated that “the type specimen, mistaken as a female by Rondani, is a male …”.
