ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868d: 583.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in planitie agri parmensis [ Parmese plains ( Italy)]” ( Rondani, 1861e: 161) [type locality for Phorocera nigripalpis Rondani, 1861 ] .

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Pseudoperichaeta nigrolineata ( Walker, 1853) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 201) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1868d: 583) proposed the substitute name Phorocera atripalpis for Phorocera nigripalpis Rondani, 1861 without any explanation. ( Herting 1984: 50; Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 201). The type material for Phorocera atripalpis Rondani, 1868 will be the same as for the name it was proposed to replace, i. e., Phorocera nigripalpis Rondani, 1861 . Under the name Phorocera nigripalpis there are two males (nontypes) in the MZUF.
