REMARKS: misidentification. Rondani (1861e: 95) in his redescription of Tachina foeda Meigen, 1822 referred to a new species now considered Loewia nudigena Mesnil, 1973 (Herting 1869: 198, O’Hara et al. 2011: 86). He considered Tachina phaeda Meigen, 1822 sensu Rondani as the type species of the genus Fortisia Rondani, 1861 , but he did not deliberately employ any previous misidentification therefore Fortisia phaeda is an unavailable name (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 11.10). The name “ phaeda ” is an incorrect subsequent misspelling of “ foeda ” Meigen. O’Hara et al. (2011: 206) did not list this nominal species. In the MZUF under the name Fortisia foeda Meigen we found two males and three females.
