TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Italy because the work deals with Italian species .

CURRENT STATUS: valid species as Siphona (Siphona) pauciseta ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 335, Andersen 1996: 99, Pape et al. 1995: 27, O’Hara et al. 2009: 167, 2020: 806, Cerretti 2010: 389).

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 193) described Siphona pauciseta without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens. Andersen (1996: 99) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (4 ♂♂, 3 ♀♀).
