ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 213 (key), 214 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Italy because the work dealt with Italian species .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (dirty) ( MZUF: Box 13): Tachina Mgn / albifrons Rnd. / 674.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Exorista fasciata ( Fallén, 1820) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 121) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 214) described Tachina albifrons without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens. Herting (1969: 190) reported one male in the MZUF. We found one syntype in this study.
