TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi . … in Etruria [Parmese territory … Etruria (= Tuscany) ( Italy)]”.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Ceroxys fraudulosa (Loew, 1864) ( Soós 1984c: 53) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1869a: 22) described Ceroxys pomariana , without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, from material he had collected and also received from F.M. Piccioli. Soós (1983: 259) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (1 ♂, 2 ♀♀).
