Degeeria anthomyaria Rondani, 1861 View in CoL

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861e: 42.

TYPE LOCALITY: Meigen (1824: 367) gave no locality in his redescription of Degeeria albocingulata ( Fallén, 1820) , but presumably it is Europe because the work deals with European species.

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype (missing all legs except left fore- and mid-legs) (MNHN: Meigen Collection): Degeeria albocingulata / MNHN, Paris ED 4651 / albocingulata / 1989 40 / 1797.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Staurochaeta albocingulata ( Fallén, 1820) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 157) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 42) proposed Degeeria anthomyaria for Degeeria albocingulata ( Fallén, 1820) sensu Meigen (1824: 376) , which he considered a new species. Rondani referred to Meigen’s redescription of Degeeria albocingulata , which was based on an unspecified number of specimens. Therefore, the type material is in the collection of Meigen (MHNH). We found one syntype in this study.
