ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 211.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle subapennino ditionis parmensis [ Parmese sub-Apennine hill ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (terminalia in a microvial pinned below specimen) ( MZUF: Box 12): Blepharigena R. / rufipalpis Rnd. / 619.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Athrycia trepida ( Meigen, 1824) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 383) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 211) described Blepharigena rufipalpis without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens. We found one syntype in this study.
