ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 208.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Agro Parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 3 ♂♂, syntypes (one dirty, partially eaten by dermestids, missing mid-legs; one missing left mid- and right hind-legs; one dirty, missing right hind-leg) ( MZUF: Box 13): Exorista Mgn / stridens Rnd. / 652.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Pseudoperichaeta nigrolineata ( Walker, 1853) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 201) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 208) described Exorista stridens without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens. We found three syntypes in this study.
