TYPE LOCALITY: “ in montuosis agri Tirolensis [Tyrolean mountains]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing right mid-leg) ( MZUF: Box 10) : Echynomya [sic!] Dmrl / strobelii Rnd. , ♂, Alpi Tirol [= Tyrolean Alps] / 495.

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 198) described Echinomya strobelii from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ lectus mas a Prof. Strobel [the male collected by Prof. Strobel]”. Herting (1969: 201) reported one male in the MZUF. We also found one syntype in this study. The MZUF also contains a (non-type) female numbered “495”.
