ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1863: 15.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Chiliae [ Chile]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (very moldy) ( MZUN: Box Coll. entomol. extra-europea, Fam. Tachinidei - Gen. Dejeania a Belvosia ): Echinomyia [sic!] filipalpis Rnd. , Chili [= Chile] / M. Zool. N° 11317 / ♂.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Peleteria filipalpis ( Guimarães 1971: 44) ; valid species, unplaced to subgenus of Peleteria ( O’Hara et al. 2020: 860) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1863: 15) described Echinomya filipalpis , without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from R.A. Philippi. Costa (1866: 32) listed a single MZUN specimen numbered “658”. We also found one syntype in this study.
