TYPE LOCALITY: “ insulae Brasilianae Sancti Sebastiani [San Sebastian Island ( Brazil)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MRSN: Box 1755): Sarcophaga Mgn pudica Rndn., Ins. S Sebastiani / Oxysarcodexia thornax (Walk.) , det. H. S. Lopes / Sarcophaga pudica Rond, 1850: 174 , Ins . S. Sebastiani.

CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Sarcophaginae ( Lopes 1969: 54) View in CoL ; junior synonym of Oxysarcodexia thornax (Walker, 1849) ( Pape 1996: 270) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1850c: 174) described Sarcophaga pudica from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material received from E. Truqui. Lopes (1985: 558) reported having examined the MRSN holotype.
