CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Sarcophaga (Krameromyia) anaces Walker, 1849 View in CoL ( Verves 1986: 139, Pape 1988: 15, 1996: 341, Povolný & Verves 1997: 189; Krčmar et al. 2019: 134).

REMARKS: Rondani (1861g: 389) described both sexes of Sarcophaga setipennis without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, but presumably from more than one specimen because he indicated: “ non rara [not rare]”. In his redescription of Sarcophaga setipennis Rondani (1862d: 107) specified the type locality: “ in collibus et planitie agri parmensis [Parmese hills and plains]; in Pedemontio [in Piedmont]”. Pape (1988: 15) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (3 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀) but did not mention an additional three specimens: one in the MZUF, one in the MSNC, and one in the MSNPV (all are paralectotypes).
