CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Miltogramma punctatum Meigen, 1824 ( Verves 1986: 75) ; junior synonym of Senotainia albifrons (Rondani, 1859) View in CoL ( Pape 1988: 14, 1996: 134).

REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 40) described Miltogramma punctatella from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “(Foem.) … semel capta [(Fem.[ale]) … collected once]”. Pape (1988: 14) reported a ‘holotype’ in the MZUF without knowing of two additional syntypes (one male and one female) in the MSNC, which brings the original syntype series to three specimens. In his original description, Rondani did not explicitly refer to a single female specimen, therefore Pape’s reference to a ‘holotype’ specimen must be considered as a lectotype (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.6). The additional syntypes in the MSNC not examined by Pape are paralectotypes.
