ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1859b: 216 (key), 219 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ a Venetiis [Venice ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MZUF: Box 14): Miltogramma Mgn / contarinii Rnd. , ♀ / 715 / holotype ♀ Miltogramma contarinii Rnd. , ♂, T. Pape det., 1986 / Miltogramma fasciata Mg. / Miltogramma Mgn contarinii Rnd., T. Pape det., 1986.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Miltogrammidium contarinii ( Verves 1986: 77) ; valid species ( Pape 1988: 7, 1996: 109, Pape et al. 1995: 11; Krčmar et al. 2019: 107).
REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 219) described Miltogramma contarinii from a single female: “ Unicam foeminam possideo [I have a single female]”, received from N. Contarini. Pape (1988: 7) reported the holotype ♀ in the MZUF.
