TYPE LOCALITY: “ in apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (terminalia and abdomen on a slide) ( MZUF: Box 29): Myioscia Rndn. / albicarpa Rnd. , ♂, Parma / 1535 / Type / Sc. albicarpa Rond., J. Verbeke det., 1963; 1 ♂, syntype (missing left wing) ( MZUF: Box 29): Myioscia Rndn. / albicarpa Rnd. , ♂, Parma / 1535; 2 ♀♀, syntypes (both missing the left mid-leg) ( MZUF: Box 29): Myioscia Rndn. albicarpa Rnd. / scutellaris Roser , ♀, Parma / 1535.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Pherbellia albicarpa View in CoL ( Rivosecchi 1982: 273, Rozkošný & Elberg 1984: 171, Rivosecchi 1992a: 69, Munari & Rivosecchi 1995: 3).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868c: 231) described both sexes of Sciomyza albicarpa without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Uterque sexus … semel inveni [I found both sexes once]”. Jean Verbeke examined the MZUF type material without, as far as we know, publishing any results. We found four syntypes in this study.
