REMARKS: misidentification. Rondani (1856: 69) misidentified a specimen of Tachina devia Fallén, 1820 as Tachina nitidula Meigen, 1824 and, in his key for the new genus Brachicoma Rondani, 1856 , identified Tachina nitidula sensu Rondani as the type species ( Pape 1996: 162, Povolný & Verves 1997: 120, O’Hara et al. 2011: 41).
