ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1880: 22 (key), 33 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ ab agro partenopeo [ Neapolitan territory ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (missing left mid-leg, double-mounted: fastened by a micro pin to a polyethylene foam block on a standard insect pin) ( MZUF: Box 37): Limosina / Macq. fucata Rnd., Neap. [= Naples] / 1943 / Holotypus Limosina fucata Rond. , ♂, J. Roháček des. 1979.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Paralimosina fucata View in CoL ( Roháček 1983: 52, Papp 1984d: 94, Roháček et al. 2001a: 186, Marshall et al. 2011: 255).

REMARKS: Rondani (1880: 33) described Limosina fucata from a single male: “ Marem unicum possideo … olim missum a Clar. A. Costa [I have a single male formerly sent by Mr. A. Costa]”. Roháček (1983: 52) reported the holotype (♂) in the MZUF.
