ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1880: 21 (key), 29 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmense [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype (slightly covered with mold) ( MZUF: Box 36): Limosina Macq. / plumosula n. / 1933 / Holotypus Limosina plumosula Rond. , ♂, J. Roháček det. 1979.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Kimosina plumosula ( Roháček 1983: 123) View in CoL ; valid species, as Limosina plumosula ( Papp 1984d: 102) View in CoL ; valid species, as Phthitia plumosula View in CoL ( Roháček et al. 2001a: 196, Marshall et al. 2011: 258).
REMARKS: Rondani (1880: 29) described Limosina plumosula from a single specimen without specifying its sex: “ Quamvis unico exemplare noto [although a single specimen known]”.
