CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Eumerus ovatus View in CoL ( Peck 1988: 160, Belcari et al. 1995a: 15).

REMARKS: Rondani (1857: 89) described Eumerus bicolor from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being four specimens in the type series found in this study. Rondani attributed the species name to L. Bellardi. Three females in the MRSN (Box 53) are not included in the type series because of their sex. Sommaggio (2007: 136) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotypes (3 ♂♂).
