CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Eumerus basalis Loew, 1848 ( Peck 1988: 155, Belcari et al. 1995a: 14).

REMARKS: Rondani (1850a: 128) described both sexes of Eumerus angusticornis without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths. We found eight syntypes in this study.
