ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 87 (key), 88 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ In Alpibus Insubriae [Insubrian (= Lombardy, Italy) Alps]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MZUF: Box 22): Aspilia Rnd. / glacialis Rnd. / 1162.

CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Drymeia Meigen, 1826 ( Pont 1986b: 73) ; valid species, as Drymeia glacialis ( Gorodkov et al. 1995: 10) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 88) described Aspilia glacialis from a single female: “ Unicum exemplar collectionis meae … captum olim a Clar. De Cristofori [Single specimen in my collection … collected by Mr. De Cristofori]”.
