ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1873e: 288.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Keren [Keren ( Eritrea)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MSNG): Bogos 1870, Keren, O. Beccari / Typus / luteiventris Rond. , ♀ / Anthomyia luteiventris , ♀.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Dichaetomyia luteiventris ( Pont 1980a: 739) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1873e: 288) described Anthomyia luteiventris from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material collected by O. Beccari and O. Antinori. Guiglia (1957: 193) and Raineri & Rey (1996: 28) reported the holotype (♀) in the MSNG.
