Lonchaeidae View in CoL View at ENA
This family of acalyptrate flies contains almost 600 species found worldwide but predominantly in temperate regions ( Marshall 2012, Evenhuis & Pape 2020). Rondani (1856, 1875a) described two Palaearctic nominal species, one considered as valid ( Kovalev & Morge 1984, Belcari et al. 1995b). Rondani proposed one new substitute name for a species previously described and named by Meigen. Here, we designate a lectotype for Lonchea scutellaris Rondani, 1875 View in CoL . The type material is in the MZUF.
