ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1856: 180.
TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Italy because the work deals with Italian species .
CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Ormosia nubipennis ( Savchenko et al. 1992: 291) View in CoL .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing both hind-legs and right fore-leg) ( OUMNH Verrall-Collin Coll.: Box 23): Type / Ilisomya nubipennis Type Rondani, Parma / I. nubipennis Ex. Coll. Bigot.
REMARKS: Rondani’s (1856: 180) key for the genus Ilisomya Rondani, 1856 lists Ilisomya nubipennis as its type species, but he did not provide a detailed description, type locality, number or sex of the specimens. We found one syntype in this study.
