ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1871a: 323.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in ditione veneta [Veneto territory ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Helina Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 ( Pont 1986b: 152) ; valid species, as Helina albicornis ( Gorodkov et al. 1995: 13) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1871a: 323) described Spilogaster albicornis from a single male: “ Specimen unicum [one specimen]”, received from L. Bellardi, to whom he attributed the species name. We could not locate any type material of this nominal species during our study.
