ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1869a: 11.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Alpina [Alps]”.
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype ( MRSN): [illegible word] / 775 / Lignodesia Rond. bellardii Rond., Alpi .
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Pelidnoptera leptiformis (Schiner, 1862) View in CoL ( Rozkošný & Elberg 1984: 169, Rivosecchi 1992a: 41).
REMARKS: Rondani (1869a: 11) described Lignodesia bellardii from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material in L. Bellardi’s collection. Rivosecchi (1992a: 43) stated not finding the type material for this nominal species in either the MRSN or MZUF. We found one syntype in the MRSN in our study.
