REMARKS: Rondani’s (1856: 80) key for the genus Cirillia Rondani, 1856 lists Cirillia angustifrons as its type species, but he did not provide a detailed description, type locality, number or sex, except for one specific male character, of the specimens. In his redescription Rondani (1861e: 142) indicated: “ Foeminam unicam legi, et raro mascula [I collected a single female, rarely males]”. Pape (1989: 356) designated the MZUF specimen as a lectotype (♂) and wrote: “I have abstained from designating any [sic!] of the two female specimens as paralectotypes as either (or none) could have been present in the original material upon which the description was made”. O’Hara et al. (2011: 61) reported that “ Rondani (1856: unpaged errata) corrected his spelling from Cirillia ancutifrons (p. 80) to Cirillia angustifrons ”.
