ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865c: 228.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in montuosis agri parmensis [ Parmese mountains ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 2 ♂♂, syntypes (one missing head, the other its left wing) ( MZUF: Box 22): Idia Mgn / maculata Rnd. ♂ / 1139; 1 ♀, syntype ( MZUF: Box 22): Idia Mgn maculata Rnd. ♀ / 1139.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Stomorhina lunata ( Fabricius, 1805) View in CoL ( Schumann 1986: 56, Pape et al. 1995: 11).

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 228) described both sexes of Stomorhyna maculata sex without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens in the genus Stomorhyna , which is an “unjustified emendation of Stomorhina Rondani 1861 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 173). We found three syntypes in this study.
