TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, lectotype ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / palumbii Rnd. / 1820 / Lectotypus Leucopis (Leucopis) palumbii Rond. , det. G. Morge, Ex 18.

PARALECTOTYPES EXAMINED: 1 ♂ (terminalia on a slide) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / palumbii Rnd. / 1820 / Paralectotypus ♂ Leucopis palumbii Rondani, 1872 , A. Raspi det. (app. gen. [= male genitalia] 1); 1 specimen (sex not determinable, missing head, puparium present) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / palumbii Rnd. / 1820; 1 ♀ ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / palumbii Rnd. / 1820 / Allotypus Syntypus Leucopis (Leucopis) palumbii Rond. , det. G. CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Raspi 1983: 351, Tanasijtshuk 1984: 229, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7, Raspi & Benelli 2016).

REMARKS: Rondani (1872c: 213) described Leucopis palumbii , without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens, from material received from F. Minà Palumbo. Raspi (1983: 352) designated a lectotype (♀) and paralectotypes (1 ♂, 2 ♀♀, 4 specimens, sex not determinable).
